Before this weekend, it had been a quarter of a century since the par-3 fourth at the TPC Blue Monster had been aced on a PGA Tour event. On Saturday at the WGC-Cadillac Championship, the hole was aced twice in a 20 minute window.
Dustin Johnson and J.B. Holmes, who finished the competition in first and second place, respectively, scored the hole-in-ones. Both players used a 7-iron to reach the water-guarded green, 207-yards from the tee.

Dustin Johnson’s ball couldn’t have been heading any straighter at the hole. After a beautifully drawn shot, the ball took a few bounces and dropped. At that point, he was tied in fourth position.
