Jordan Spieth may be the No. 1 player in the world, but he’s no Happy Gilmore off the tee.
Attempting the iconic golf shot at Sunday’s Grapefruit Pro-Am, the two-time major champ took a few steps up to the ball before smashing it from the tee. Unlike Adam Sandler’s Happy, however, Spieth’s ball was destined for the water.
“We’re just putting on a show,” Spieth explained. “Really, we’re putting on a show, and it’s unbelievable.”
He was certainly putting on a show three holes later, when he holed out from the fairway for eagle on the 400-yard 14th.
