Tiger Woods announces he won’t play in the U.S. Open

An announcement that Woods had registered for the U.S. Open in April got people talking, but his agent Mark Steinberg told ESPN it was simply a ‘procedural’ move in the event that Woods decided to return at Oakmont.

“I will be hosting and attending my foundation’s tournament, the Quicken Loans National, at Congressional. It’s the 10th year of our tournament, and we continue to support the community, the military and the programs of the Tiger Woods Foundation.”
