David Love III won the Wyndham Championship on Sunday, becoming the third-oldest winner in the history of the PGA Tour. The 51-year-old finished with a 6-under 64, winning by a one-stroke margin over Jason Gore.
“Any victory now is going to be really sweet when you’re over 50,” Love said.
Love, starting at no. 186, made his way into The Barclays after earning 500 FedEx Cup point as well as $972,000 in prize money.
At the age of 51 years, 4 months and 10 days, Love is behind only Sam Snead and Art Wall on the Tour winners age list. Sam Snead won his eighth Greensboro title at 52 years, 10 months and 8 days, and Wall won the Greater Milwaukee Open in 1975 at 51 years, 7 months and 10 days.
