Day’s Dominant Wire-to-Wire Win at THE PLAYERS

Day’s leading margin restored itself within the next three holes thanks to two 15-foot birdie putts. The last hurdle was finding the putting surface on the infamous island-green 17th, which he did to set himself up for a birdie putt.

Day’s seven recent victories, dating back to the Canadian Open, include the PGA Championship, the PLAYERS Championship, the WGC-Dell Match Play, and a pair of FedExCup events, and happened against some of the toughest fields in the game. On Sunday he became the first wire-to-wire winner at TPC Sawgrass in 16 years, and joined Tiger Woods, Tom Watson and Johnny Miller as the only players to win wire-to-wire twice in the same season.
