You’ll probably be aware of one or two bunkers at your local golf course which are particularly dangerous. And more often than not, this is due to a challenging, high lip that you must clear in order to get out and onto the green.
We’ve seen some bunker lips reaching as high as ten feet, and depending where your ball comes to rest after the previous shot, it can be near enough impossible to get out. Sometimes, it might even make more sense to chip out sideways onto the fairway, costing yourself a stroke but knowing that you’ll make it on in the next shot.
In the video on the following page, retired golf professional Annika Sorenstam gives some useful advice on how to get the essential lift to get out of those tricky bunkers.
