Jordan Spieth won his eighth PGA Tour title at home in the Lone Star State.
Spieth won in Fort Worth, Texas, after birdieing the final three holes on Sunday for a 5-under-65. During those last three holes, Spieth chipped in on No. 17 after his ball took an unfortunate bounce off a marshal, and closed with a 34-foot birdie putt when all he needed was a bogey.
The win by the World’s No. 2 player came in only his third start since throwing away a five-stroke lead at Augusta in May when he was attempting to win consecutive Masters titles. Spieth will go on to defend his U.S. Open title at Oakmont in June.
Finishing at 17-under 263, Spieth completed 72 holes three strokes ahead of Harris English at the DEAN & DELUCA Invitational.
Colonial member Ryan Palmer and Webb Simpson finished one behind English to tie for third, both shooting 68 playing in the final round with Spieth.
